Helping People Learn, Grow, Ride & Thrive
CANTER promotes the health and independence of individuals with disabilities or special needs through equine assisted activities in a safe and caring environment.
Welcome to CANTER
Connection, confidence and possibility
We are a volunteer-run nonprofit serving individuals with disabilities and special needs throughout Cochise County. Donations of time and resources allow us to provide mounted and unmounted equine assisted activities in a caring, supportive setting.
Founded in 1993, CANTER grew from a temporary riding program into a permanent 17-acre facility with an arena, stables, classroom, tack room and dedicated space for specially trained equine partners.
501(c)(3)

CANTER relies on volunteers, donors, instructors and equine partners to keep its programs accessible. Financial circumstances should not prevent an eligible student from participating.

CANTER is accredited by PATH International, reflecting a commitment to safety, quality instruction and responsible horse care.
